Submit to QUICK WORK: Short Takes on Epic Truths

In the lead-up to our next Multiplicity Magazine, we're soliciting short takes on this issue's theme.

At Any Age.

Were you sixteen when you arrived in a new country, forty-one when you finally felt comfortable in your own skin? Twelve when you lost your best friend, sixty-seven when you went back to school? How old was your mother, your brother, your lover? For this issue, we seek stories of milestones, large and small. We want to read about the day the training wheels came off the bike, or the day you failed your driving test. The moment you knew you’d marry your wife, or the moment you knew you had to leave your husband.  We want to read stories of youth, stories of eldering, stories about you, stories about others, stories combed from memory, stories unfolding now. Life happens at any age. How old were you—or they—when…

We invite you to share your true stories with us in 100 words or fewer.

We'll be posting QUICK WORK on the Multiplicity Blog in early spring, as we gear up for our Spring/Summer Issue of Multiplicity Magazine. (See our other call for submissions above for longer submissions on this theme.)

QUICK WORK submissions are open November 15, 2021 through January 3, 2022.

All submissions to the QUICK WORK series must be true, original stories produced by the person who submits them. For this series, we require work that has not been previously published in any form (including on social media).

Please read the About Multiplicity Magazine page and our Submission Guidelines page for more details about the types of pieces we publish.
See our Usage Rights page for information about the rights we request upon publication.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
